So as i mentioned in last last Snow Day Fun post, i recommend baking a cake and i said i would share my favorite chocolate cola cake recipe! Also i found this recipe off of the BBC food website but of course i have modified it slightly.
Ingredients
250g self-raising flour
300g golden caster sugar
3 heaped tbsp cocoa
generous pinch of bicarbonate of soda
250g butter
250ml cola drink
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
Set the oven to 180 degrees celsius
Add the flour, sugar cocoa and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl and mix them together.
Melt the butter and cola together.
Add the butter and cola mixture to the dry ingredients as well as the egg and vanilla extract.
Don't be alarmed when the mixture goes extremely runny when the cola is added, it's supposed to!
Once they are mixed, pour into two cake tins and put into the oven for 40 minutes. Check with a cocktail stick to see if its cooked all the way through- if it comes out clean its done.
I let it cool for 15 minutes then decorated it with chocolate spread and smarties. Make sure you #liv.white14 on instagram sharing your cakes, i'd love to see them!
